THE MONTVILLE HIGH SCHOOL MUSIC DEPARTMENT INVITES YOU TO THEIR ANNUAL JAZZ NIGHT FEATURING LOCAL BIG BAND STRING OF PEARLS. JOIN US WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17TH IN THE MONTVILLE HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM AT 7:00PM FOR A LIVE PERFORMANCE OF ALL YOUR FAVORITE JAZZ STANDARDS.  A SUGGESTED DONATION OF $5 WILL BE COLLECTED AT THE DOOR.

ALL MONEY RAISED FROM JAZZ NIGHT AT MHS WILL SUPPORT THE MONTVILLE HIGH SCHOOL MUSIC DEPARTMENT.   THERE WILL ALSO BE SILENT AND LIVE AUCTIONS FOR EXCLUSIVE MHS MUSIC MEMORABILIA. MONTVILLE HIGH SCHOOL’S ACAPELLA CHOIR, CHAMBER CHOIR, AND JAZZ COMBO WILL OPEN FOR THE STRING OF PEARLS.

ONECO UNITED METHODIST CHURCH WILL BE HOSTING A HOME MADE SOUPS TO GO  & BAKE SALE ON SATURDAY FEBRUARY 20TH FROM 10AM-2PM. CHOOSE A GOOD BOOK, SOME HOT SOUP, A DESSERT, AND THAN SPEND A COLD, WINTER AFTERNOON AT HOME AND ENJOY.

NEW LONDON AT THE 3RD ANNUAL FOR PETE’S SAKE CONCERT IN MEMORY OF ICONIC SINGER-SONGWRITER PETE SEEGER.  ON FEBRUARY 26, FRIDAY NIGHT FOLK OF ALL SOULS WILL HOST THE 3RD ANNUAL FOR PETE’S SAKE CONCERT, HONORING THE MUSIC AND IDEALS OF PETE SEEGER.  THE CONCERT WILL BENEFIT  F.R.E.S.H. NEW LONDON, AND WILL BE HELD AT UNITY HALL, ALL SOULS UU CONGREGATION, 19 JAY STREET, NEW LONDON, CT.  THE CONCERT BEGINS AT 7:30PM; DOORS OPEN AT 7PM.   REFRESHMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE.

THERE WILL BE A PRESENTATION ON SUMMER CAMPS AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDERN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS TAKING PLACE AT LAWRENCE & MEMORIAL- BAKER AUDITORIUM IN NEW LONDON WEDENSDAY MARCH 2.  REGISTRATION STARTS AT 5:30PM.  MEET WITH REPRESENTATIVES FROM LOCAL CAMPS, SHARE INFORMATION WITH OTHER PARENTS AND DISCUSS FUNDING RESOURCES.

GROTON ROTARY CLUB WILL BE HOSTING A FRANCO’S COMEDY FOR YOUR CAUSE ON FRIDAY MARCH 11 AT 7PM. TICKETS ARE $30. TO PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS PLEASE CALL LINDA LEE AT 860-245-4442. ALL PROCEEDS WILL BENEFIT THE GROTON ROTARY CLUB’S SCHOLARSHIP FUND.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL #8903 IN OAKDALE HAS GIFTED THE ARC NEW LONDON COUNTY WITH $364 RAISED DURING THIS YEAR’S TOOTSIE ROLL DRIVE. THE POPULAR FUNDRAISER IS PART OF THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS’ CAMPAIGN FOR PEOPLE WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES.    THE DOLLARS RAISED BENEFIT THE ARC’S COMMUNITY LIFE AND ADVOCACY PROGRAM, FUNDED SOLELY THROUGH DONATIONS, COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING EVENTS AND THE UNITED WAY. COMMUNITY LIFE AND ADVOCACY OFFERS PEOPLE WITH I/DD IN NEW LONDON COUNTY OPPORTUNITIES TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY THROUGH VOLUNTEER SERVICE; IT ALSO PROVIDES SUPPORT GROUPS FOR SURVIVORS OF SEX ABUSE AND A SELF-PRESENTATION SKILLS PROGRAM TO ENHANCE CAREER AND LIFE SUCCESS.
